Veann and Julie I am so sad to see this. Joe was truly a wonderful man. I marveled at his dedication to his family and especially to the grandchildren. Barry and I always enjoyed watching the girls basketball games with your family. You were blessed with a great husband, father and grandfather.

I have read so many books, seen countless movies and TV shows that include amazing characters possessing incredible qualities only created by talented writers. But in real life, I had the absolute pleasure of being the son-in-law of a man that rivaled fantasy superheroes, Joe Hansen. Joooeeyyyy, as I called him, is the embodiment of love and dedication—a family man through and through. He was the kind of father, husband, grandfather, and father-in-law that others looked up to. His kindness was evident in everything he did, always putting others’ needs before his own. I learned so much from him from installing a toilet to gas furnaces. He was always there to offer his knowledge and time and never expected anything in return. His compassion and thoughtfulness made him a cornerstone in the lives of those he loved. Joe loved his family more than anything in the world. Let’s not forget to mention is compassion and love for his Fur-babies that were part of his life including Buttons, Beezer, Marvin, Twister, Nisky and Hadley. Joe was such a generous person. He found joy in helping others, often without expecting anything in return. His generosity extended beyond grand gestures, showing up in the little things—offering a helping hand, or simply being there when someone needs them. Joe was truly the ultimate role model for family and selflessness.
Besides being my father-in-law, he was my best friend. I will miss him so much and will continue to smile to myself when I think of the last 26 years of memories I have had the pleasure of making with him. When I look back on these years in Google Photos, it is evident that he was always there for birthdays, sporting events, weddings, dinners, graduations, proms, recitals, backyard bonfires, the list goes on. Joe is my role model to be a better person, friend, husband and father. The laughs we shared I will hold close to my heart. Though he may no longer be physically present, the memories of him live on, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of those who loved him. These cherished memories bring comfort and warmth, as if he’s still right there, watching over us shaping our lives with the love and care he always gave. You will be missed Jooooeeyyyyy ❤️❤️❤️

Veann, Just wanted you to know how very sorry to read about your husband's passing. I am giving you a BIG hug! I pray that he didn't suffer long and knowing he's at peace/rest gives you some comfort. I will see Mom on Thursday for about a week & I will let her know. Now some days Mom understands & some days not too much. However, you know she would send you her love! Love to you and your entire family. Love, Gary Cullen.
