Raising a glass to my lifelong friend who embodied a dazzling combination of grit and grace, wit and warmth.
I will miss Alison's interesting and always well-informed takes on life, and the eloquent ways she expressed them. And the journeys we took together. Invitations to join her in adventure led to numerous countries, be it for vacation or education. But most precious of all was the journey she led me through as a calm, knowledgeable, and loving guide when I too had to experience a serious illness--while at the same time fighting her own health battle.
Farewell for now, my dear friend . . .
