Obituary of Frederick E. Voris, Jr.

SCHENECTADY – Frederick E. Voris, Jr., 80, of Schenectady, entered eternal life on January 9, 2023, at Ellis Hospital following a short illness. The son of the late Frederick E. Voris, Sr. and Nettie (Marsello) Voris, Frederick was born on September 21, 1942, in Schenectady. A lifelong resident of Schenectady, He attended Mont Pleasant High School. Frederick served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany in 1965. He obtained the rank of Sergeant and received an honorable discharge for his service in 1967. Mr. Voris retired from the General Electric Company in Schenectady following 30+ years of service. His memberships included the Italian American War Veterans (IAWV) Richard E. Voris Post No. 37. Fred, as he was known by his family and friends, enjoyed many hobbies, in particular fishing trips and mining for gold, but what he enjoyed most was sharing these activities with his family and friends. He was also an avid pet lover who dedicated much of his time to the care and well-being of animals. He leaves to cherish his memory, his very loving wife, Cheryle (Muscanell) Voris, whom he married on November 7, 1965, in St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland. He is also survived by his children: Richard (Lisa) Voris, Denise (John) Van Dyke and Randy Voris, all of Schenectady. He was the loving grandfather of Kelsie, Zachary, Gina, and Dominick Voris. He was also the great grandfather of Chandler, Kendall, Mateo, and Joey. In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by one sister, Vivian Palmo. Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Fred’s Family on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 4-6PM in the Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue (corner of Broadway) Schenectady, NY 12306. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours starting at 6PM in Bond Funeral Home.
