Obituary of Mary E. Gordon
ALBANY –
Mary E. Gordon, 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital following complications of COVID-19.
The daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Fraley) Lawlor, Mary was born July 27, 1930, in Albany. Mary was a graduate of Albany High School and worked in the printing industry in Albany, later joining the NYS Assembly as an executive assistant. She worked at the Assembly for over 20 years, retiring in 1994.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister Helen DiRubbo and her loving husband of 38 years, Max Gordon.
Mary and Max had the good fortune to enjoy traveling throughout the world but found their “Golden Pond” on Hedges Lake. They enjoyed many summers there with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters: Mary Beth (Denn) Czernicki, Karen Denn-Cunniff (Joseph), her grandchildren: Elizabeth Quist (Lt. Col. Erik, USMC), Valerie Hillebrand (Joshua), Sarah Czernicki (fiancé Rodney), Elliot Cunniff, Allison Cunniff, her great-grandchildren: Adeline and Jack Hillebrand, her brother Charles Lawlor, and one niece, Kim Lawlor Green (Lloyd).
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no services.
