Obituary of Michael Lawrence Stomp

SCHENECTADY – Michael Lawrence Stomp, 69, of Schenectady, entered into rest on December 1, 2022, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Lawrence Stomp and the late Constance Volpe, Michael was born on February 11, 1953, in Schenectady, New York. Mr. Stomp was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. He was a talented construction and maintenance professional, often referred to by his family as "Fixer Extraordinaire". Mike was an excellent marksman, a gun and knife enthusiast, and a supporter of firearm rights and safety. He always valued good service and integrity. He was a loving husband, proud father, and grandfather. Survivors include his beloved wife, Rahmi Serpenti, whom he married on January 16, 1983, in Schenectady. His children: Dea Field (Allan), Michael G. Stomp (Sarah) and Justin K. Stomp. His grandchildren: Amaranth M. Stomp, Dayne A. Field and Ayden A. Field. Michael also leaves behind to cherish his memory is his sweet Siberian Husky, Misty Girl. In addition to his mother, Michael was predeceased by his grandparents George and Leona Volpe. The family wishes to thank Mike’s oncologist, Dr. David Shaffer for his compassion and attention, as well as Schenectady County Community Hospice for their care during his final days. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
