Obituary of Judith Anne Powers

Judith Anne Powers, 81, of Chatham, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at her home following a brief illness. She was born on July 23, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Claire and Richard Turner.
Judy graduated from Baldwin High School in 1959. She worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines before moving to upstate New York to raise a family. A talented artist and sculptor, Judy was continually creating art inspired by nature. She was a true animal lover, and for many years, she raised champion English mastiffs. Judy was also a skilled gardener who enjoyed sharing her green thumb with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons William (Amanda), Jason, and Matthew; grandchildren Chloe, Liam, Ava, Madeline, Katherine, Henry, Wyatt, Tallulah, Vivienne, Gunnar, and Stellan; brother Richard Turner (Ann); niece Ruth Smith (Bryan); nephews Ben (Amy) and Char Turner; and great-nieces Sarah and Emily Smith. She is predeceased by her sister Edith Roberts (Joe) and nephew Christopher Roberts. Judy also leaves behind dear friends at her home in Camphill Ghent and at her previous home in South Pond Farm, Richmond, Massachusetts.
Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A private celebration of life will be held in the spring.
