Carol,
I am sorry to hear of Ron's passing. The short time we spent together at SHS was very enjoyable for me. I know he will be deeply missed. I am dealing with a physical issue which will prevent me from attending the service on December 3rd. For this I apologize, I'm sure it will be a wonderful tribute. My condolences.

Carol:
Some of the most enjoyable and substantive conversations and encounters I enjoyed in my years of teaching at Linton/Schenectady High School were with Ron, usually while passing him in the hallways or encountering him outside of school at the Credit Union or post office. His blunt honesty, coupled heart and humor, allowed you to know exactly where he stood on every issue and where you stood with him. In addition, Ron's courageous and outspoken defense of the rights of his colleagues will not be forgotten by those of us who were there to benefit from his efforts. He was truly one of a kind, the kind that, for some reason, Nature seemingly fails to replicate in these strange times. My heartfelt condolences to you and your entire family. Neil Yetwin

To Carol and family,
I was shocked and overwhelmed by grief to read Ron’s obituary in The Daily Gazette. As you know, Ron and I were colleagues and friends since 1969, when I began teaching at Linton High School. After his retirement, we lost touch until recent years when we renewed our companionship through emails and phone calls.
I owed Ron a debt of gratitude so profound I could never repay. We completed our doctoral programs about the same time. Ron was a few months ahead of me and working feverishly to finish his dissertation. Nevertheless, he graciously devoted what little spare time he had to act as my “guru” as I neared the end of that long grueling process. I will be forever grateful to Ron for the biggest favor anyone has ever done for me.
I hope Ron’s kindness toward me brings you a measure of appreciation for the life Ron lived. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
