Obituary of Beth L. VanSchaick

GLENVILLE – Beth VanSchaick has left our world, to a place where she will be reunited with loved ones who have passed, especially her dad, George VanSchaick and Tim Williams, her companion and support for over 20 years. Beth was born April 28,1962 at Ellis Hospital to George and Ruth VanSchaick. Her Mom is very much alive and lives at Baptist Health Center in Scotia. Beth died on Friday, September 30, 2022, in Ellis Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She was with family when she passed. Beth is survived by her mother, Ruth VanSchaick; her brothers Paul (Linda) VanSchaick and David (Shirley) VanSchaick; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great nephews. Beth graduated from the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District (Class of 1980) and Utica College. She pursued her Elementary School Teaching Certification through Russell Sage College but was unable to complete the program because of her health. Despite her health issues, Beth was a giving woman. For 32 years, she has been a member of the Rexford Fire Department Auxiliary, serving as president and currently vice-president. She also has been a member of the Beukendaal Fire Department Auxiliary for 20 years. She was a volunteer at the Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville; she loved all animals but was particularly fond of cats. She always had a cat or two and will be missed by her current cats, Skipper, and Lovie. She also supported Tim in his activities with Boy Scout Troop 56 of Burnt Hills. Beth always enjoyed music and singing; she sang in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church choir for years. She enjoyed crafts and participated in many craft fairs, including fairs at the Rexford Fire Department and the Stevens Elementary School in Burnt Hills, along with her mother Ruth. Beth also liked to travel with Tim, in the Adirondacks and along the New England coast, especially Hampton Beach and the Nubble Light near York Beach, Maine. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Beth’s Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, October 12th at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, NY 12302. The service will be at 7pm. The family will be available at the church at 6pm to receive guests prior to the service. Beth’s Family would like to thank the staff at Ellis Hospital Intensive Care for their kind and considerate care. In lieu of flowers, Beth’s Family has requested donations in her memory to: The Animal Protection Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, NY 12302 The Rexford Fire Department Auxiliary, PO Box 225, Rexford, NY 12148.
