Obituary of Bruce Kuty

COPAKE – “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” Bruce’s “Last Call” occurred on August 30, 2022. He was the son the late Eugene and Wanda Kuty of Hillsdale, NY. As the owner of the Copake Inn (AKA “The Zoo”) for many years, Bruce had many friends, a few enemies, recurring romances, and a very unique sense of humor. Some would say Bruce was cheap, but he would often come through, for his friends and family, with low interest rates (and repeated reminders) on any loans requested. Dawn Mato, his long-time friend, employee, caretaker and “humble servant” will be hosting a Celebration of Bruce’s Life at the Copake Inn on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 1PM. Bruce’s family and friends are invited to his private party to share memories. Casual attire is requested. Please bring your AARP or Medicare Card as proof of age. Donations to the Columbia County Humane Society and can be made in Bruce’s name. R.I.P. Captain Copake. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
