Obituary of Frank Peter Izzo, Jr.

TROY - On Friday, September 16, 2022, Frank Peter Izzo Jr, a beloved husband, passed unexpectedly at the age of 65. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Stephanie (Looby) Izzo, with whom he shared all of life’s special moments. Frank, born on November 8, 1956, was a native of Mechanicville, New York, and a graduate of Mechanicville High school. An embodiment of his Italian heritage, Frank was a connoisseur of Italian cuisine and wine, who also had a passion for fast cars, and football (Dallas cowboys). More than anything, though, he was a family man. Frank’s bigger than life personality captured the hearts of everyone he knew. Alongside Stephanie, stories were told, jokes were made, and joy was spread. To say Frank never met a stranger would be an understatement. Whether reciting the Wonder Pets theme song to a child, or discussing rebuilding a car to a buddy, Frank related to people in the most authentic way. Frank also shared a love for animals, especially his dogs, which is a true testament to his kind and gentle nature. All creatures, both human and animal, felt the warmth that Frank so generously offered. Frank achieved the highest of accomplishments - He left this world a better place. Frank is also survived by; his mother Gloria Ture Izzo, sister-in-law Vonnie Pascavage Izzo, brother David (Sue) Izzo, sisters Angela (John) Mulligan, Maria (Thomas) Welch, mother-in-law Pauline Moore, brother-in-law Brian (Julie) Looby, nephews Paul Izzo, Nicholas Izzo, Dr. Gregory Izzo, David Perez Izzo, David Izzo, Daniel Izzo, Christopher Izzo, Zachary Mulligan, Thomas Welch, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his father Frank Peter Izzo Sr, and his brother Nicholas Izzo. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. A service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption on September 23, 2022 (498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, New York 12110) at 10:00am, immediately followed by a celebration of life. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (3 Oakland Ave, Menands, New York).
