Obituary of Linda Connors

ROUND LAKE – Linda Connors, 79, of Round Lake and formerly of Albany, entered eternal life on August 27, 2022, with her loving family by her side. The daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Schue) Donnelly, Linda was born on June 10, 1943, in Albany where she received her education from Vincentian Institute. In 1979 Linda along with her husband and children relocated to Round Lake Village and has resided there ever since, becoming a fabric of the community. Mrs. Connors was employed as an American Sign Language Interpreter throughout the Capital District, mainly for the Guilderland School District and HVCC. She was the former President of WRLIS and the Chair of the Improvement Committee, along with serving on numerous other committees. She continued to execute ideas for the village, most recently for the Round Lake Library. Linda was the recipient of the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award in her village. She was also a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Round Lake. Linda was the first Upstate New Yorker to sign for the State of the State Governors speech. Always the woman in the circle on television, Linda interpreted for former New York State Governors Carey and Cuomo, as well as Hillary Clinton when she was running for State Senate as well as the installation ceremony for Bishop Hubbard. She also interpreted events for well-known artists. There wasn't anything Linda could not do. Her humor, intelligence, drive, strength, and energy were immeasurable. Amongst many things, she enjoyed traveling, trivia, gardening, reading with her book club, shopping, and hosting the annual chili party for 25 consecutive years. Giving and caring in many ways, Linda was known for volunteering and helping others. Linda enjoyed going to weekend garage/estate sales, creating all things beautiful out of almost anything. But most of all, Linda treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Beloved wife of 43 years to Robert Connors, whom she married on October 20, 1979, at the Albany Deaf Center. Loving mother of: Sean Reynolds, James Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, and Shannon (Eugene) Clark. Cherished grandmother of: Samantha Taylor, Breanne McTygue, Chelsea Reynolds, Kevan Clark, Chase Reynolds and Harper Reynolds, and great grandmother of: Audrey Kelly and Delilah Puckett. Dearest sister to: Alan (Patricia) Donnelly and Edward (Carol) Donnelly. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by one brother, Wallace Donnelly. The Connors Family would like to thank all of Linda’s friends for their outpouring of love, support, assistance, and prayers over the past 8 months. Everyday a card or letter was left for Linda, she beamed from each one with long paragraphs of beautiful well wishes. She fought so hard with such will, saying "I've got things to do" and her fight gave her time at home to do just those things. Linda was full of life and leaves behind a legacy that will be treasured by all that were lucky to have been a part of her life. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Relatives, Friends, and the Community of Round Lake Village are invited to Linda’s Memorial Service on Thursday, September 8th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (located at: 2001 US-9 in Round Lake) where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock in the morning. The Rite of Committal will follow the mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. To leave a special message for the Connors Family, please visit: SimpleChoicesCremation.com
