SARATOGA SPRINGS –
Thomas Ivan Lange, 59, of Saratoga Springs, entered into rest unexpectedly at home on June 17, 2022.
The son of Katherine (MacDonald) and the late John Weber Lange, Thomas was born on March 29, 1963, and raised in Lockport, New York.
He received his education from Lockport High School, Class of 1981. After graduation Tom joined the US NAVY and trained as a specialist in nuclear energy and propulsion. He received several awards and an honorable discharge for his service. Following the Navy he resided in Saratoga Springs, NY for the remainder of his life.
Tom was employed at the Kesselring Naval Nuclear Laboratory in Ballston Spa, NY for nearly 35 years beginning with General Dynamics Electric Boat Division and later with Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding. He retired in May of 2022.
Tom enjoyed sports cars, traveling (especially to Hawaii), tinkering around his home, attending the track, listening to music. He always found the good in people and helped bring out the best in them. He helped many along his path in life. Above all he had a strong love of rescuing and fostering dogs which led him to co-found Rottie Empire Rescue where he continued to contribute and help to lead many of their successful efforts.
Tom is survived by his two dogs: Kali and Kash. His four siblings: David Lange, Debra (Thomas) Walker, Kristen Clark and Steven Lange (Elizabeth Huneke). Also survived by six loving nieces: Alison (Brian) Sullivan, Melissa (David) Barth, Jessica (Jeffrey) Grant, Jenna (Jason) Walling, Lauren (Paul) Nielsen, Madeline (Nathan) Strobel and sister-in-law Eileen Lange. Several great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and MANY close friends. All who are missing him dearly today.
In addition to his father, Tom was predeceased by his grandparents: the late Rev. Ivan and Elva Lange and Carl and Elizabeth MacDonald.
