Obituary of Allen J. Calhoun

GLOVERSVILLE- Allen J. Calhoun, age 68, passed away on May 10, 2022, at his home peacefully after many years of heart issues. He was born September 18, 1953, in Gloversville, N.Y. He was the son of Raymond G. Calhoun SR. & Betty Jean Johnson-Calhoun-Fraker both of whom predeceased him. Allen is survived by his daughter Nita Calhoun-Kemmer (Kenny), 2 Grandchildren Kassidy & Shianna and 1 Great granddaughter Averie, she melted his heart with her smiles. Brothers: Patrick (Carol), Raymond and Thomas and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Allen attended Gloversville Schools. In 1974-1978 he was enlisted in the Navy. Married in 1976 to Rosemary Richardson who is predeceased. He was a Truck driver for many years. He also liked doing electrical work and working on cars. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in Saranac Lake. He loved riding his motorcycle and going on long drives. He loved to cook, always making clam chowder, stews, and chili. Allen is also predeceased by his brother Gerald Calhoun and sisters: Deborah Calhoun-Laplant, Cynthia Calhoun, Karen Calhoun-Gordon and stepfather George Fraker. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. A Celebration of life in honor of Allen Calhoun will be at the Johnstown Moose Club, more details will follow at a later date.
