Obituary of Lawrence R. George

ALBANY- Lawrence R. George, 53, of Albany, entered into rest on April 28, 2022 The son of the late Joseph and Diane (Greenlaw) George, Larry was born on June 21, 1968 in Albany. Larry was raised in Albany and has resided here, his entire life. He attended Albany Public Schools. Larry was the kind of man who truly loved helping people. He also enjoyed fishing and building bikes. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed walks and looking at wallpaper with his granddaughter on his phone. Larry was known as "G of the South End" and "Ghost" because he grew up in that neighborhood. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara J. (Cole) George, whom he married on July 6, 1991 in Albany. His daughters: Desiree George (Patrick Porter) and Shania George (Juan Rowlett). He was the grandfather of Scarlett Rowlett and four other grandchildren. He was the brother of several siblings who also survive. He also leaves behind a large family, including many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Larry was very protective of his family and friends and loved by everyone. He will be dearly missed. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service for Larry at 11AM on Friday, May 13th at Elijah Missionary Baptist Church, 74 Second Avenue, Albany, NY 12202 with Bishop Avery L.
