Obituary of Edward J. Miller

TROY- Edward J. Miller (Jim) of Troy, NY died on April 12, 2022, after a long illness. He was 73 years old. Jim was born on January 12, 1949, to the late Harold and Helen Miller and is survived by his son Russell Miller and his grandson Joshua Miller, as well as three sisters: Sr. Maria Goretti, Sr. Anastasia Mary, and Theresa (Siegmar) Tessarzik, and five brothers: John (Barbara), Thomas (Irene), Joseph (Rechelle), Robert, Michael Paul (Ann) Miller and former sister-in-law Lynn Miller. Jim also left behind his close friends Harvey Rosenthal, Michael Beneau, Belinda Bitter and Debbie Pierce. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his son, Eric Miller. Jim attended St. Margaret Mary School, St. Joseph Academy and Guilderland High School. He worked as a carpenter. He liked to sing and play guitar especially to an audience. Some of his favorite artists were Elvis, Johnny Cash and Roger Miller. Throughout his life Jim entertained his family and friends with his impersonations of Elvis. Jim was always kind and courteous to everyone he met. He loved horses and fast cars, especially his brand new 1968 GTX. During the VietNam War Era Jim served in the Marine Corp. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on May 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a brunch. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
