Obituary of John F. Jones

SCOTIA- John F. Jones, 76, of Scotia for 53 years, passed away at home on April 1, 2022 surrounded by loving family members after a 12-month battle with cancer. John was born in Amsterdam on August 5, 1945, to John P. and Evelyn Jones. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Barbara Boedigheimer Jones, and an awesome father to John T. (Glenville), grandchildren Jordyn and Taylor and Jason M. (Catherine) and baby Abigail (Exeter, NH). He is survived by sisters Marcia Albertin (West Glenville) and Patricia Motyl (Ron) (Amsterdam) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was also brother to the late William Jones (Amsterdam). He was a friend, mentor, teacher and advocate to everyone and anyone he met or who sought him out. John always took the time to be involved in many activities and services to support his community and friends. At John's request, services will be private. Cremation took place through Simple Choices, Inc. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
