Judy and Howard,
I was the assistant on one of your parents trips to Italy. We took an overnight train from one part of Italy to another but I have forgotten the details. Walt was always devoted to Joan and referred to her as his "Sweetie". I wouldn't say the trip was rigorous but
there were long days of shooting and then an extended dinner at the end of the day. Joan never complained and was perfectly fine with being left alone for a good portion of the day.
I never would have become the person and photographer I became because of the support and guidance I received from your parents. I have fond memories of both. stanleywblanchard@gmail.com
