Obituary of Lee H. Ashline
GUILDERLAND-
Lee H. Ashline, 67, of Guilderland, NY passed away in the comfort of his home in the arms of a friend following a valiant fight against oropharyngeal cancer on October 1, 2021.
Lee was born in Plattsburgh, NY, the son of the late Henry Ashline and Helen Ashline.
He worked as a contractor owning his own business in the local area for years.
When confronted with cancer he fought hard until the bitter end exhibiting strength, stamina and determination.
Lee was a stand-out baseball player and overall athlete in his youth. He knew the stats of individual players and teams in many sports and could cite where they stood in the standings off the top of his head.
Lee exuded charm, wit, natural intelligence and genuine warmth. He had many friends as people liked to be in his company. This was due to his innate ability to see the good in people and connect to that quality in them, making them feel valued and immediately putting them at ease.
Lee had a heart of gold. His indomitable spirit, sense of humor, magnetic personality and generous smile will be missed by many.
He leaves his brothers John (Marcy), Glenn, and Greg Ashline (Laurie); his nephew, Gage Ashline; as well as his niece and several other nephews; his beloved Judy; and many friends to mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his nephew, Ian Ashline; and his grandmother, Viola Ashline, with whom he shared a very close affection and bond.
A private graveside service took place and he is interred at Albany Rural Cemetery. Some of his friends are planning a celebration of Lee’s life to take place at a later date.
