Obituary of Thomas G. Kilgallon

EAST GREENBUSH- Thomas G. Kilgallon, 85, of East Greenbush, NY died peacefully on August 28, 2021 at the VA Medical Center. Born in Troy, NY on January 10, 1936. He was the son of the late James J. and Mary C. McMahon Kilgallon. Tom had worked his entire career in the food industry, most notably as Head Chef at the Freshman Dining Hall on the RPI Campus in Troy, NY. Loving and devoted father to Joseph Messina (Jade), Karen Thompson, Edward Kilgallon (Terry), Brenda Darpino and Sherry Quinn (Timothy). Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather of his beloved grandchildren. Loving companion of 20 plus years to Carol Mohamed. Survivors include former wife, Carolyn Messina, his brother James Kilgallon (Monica), sisters Sally Zucaro (Pat), Mary Theresa Connelly and Carol Rotelli along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thomas was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen T. Kilgallon. His greatest treasure was to be surrounded by his children and grand-children whom he was so proud of. He enjoyed watching football games and listening to country music. Our family would like to thank the staff of the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home for the compassion shown to our loved one and our family during the last few months of his life.
