Obituary of Christopher J. Gloeckner

ALBANY- At home with family, and the puppy, at his side Christopher gently passed on from this earthly realm on Friday, August 20, 2021. Born and raised in Albany, Chris attended Vincentian Institute (VI) and Russell Sage College. He retired from the Times Union after 33 years as a Circulation District Manager, including serving 18 years as an active Newspaper Guild member of the pension board. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Melanie Roderick Gloeckner, sister, Katharine Gloeckner Taormina (Kathy) & husband Robert (Bob), brothers: Frank James Gloeckner III (Jim) & wife Barbara and Barry Gloeckner & wife Sandy, as well as a whole crew of the best nieces and nephews ever. Dear family and friends, hold your memories of Chris deep within your heart as a celebration of his life. Your love and friendship honored and nourished him. And he loved you right back! Chris was a long-time supporter of Habitat for Humanity, PBS, NPR, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
