Obituary of Chyna Kathleen Smith

CHYNA KATHLEEN SMITH EDWARDS August 16,1990 – June 10,2020 Chyna was born in Covington, Kentucky on August 16, 1990 to her surviving father Mark Smith (Ohio). This is where she would grow up and spent most of her life in Northern Kentucky until a brief illness and a tragedy took her young life just a few short years after she had moved to New York State. Chyna left us on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 8:52 PM. She passed away at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, Otsego County, New York. Chyna was married in December 2016 to Tyler Edwards. They left Kentucky and moved to New York State in 2017. They lived briefly in Delaware County, NY before settling in Oneonta, Otsego County, New York. They separated in November 2020. Tyler Edwards predeceased his young estranged wife by only three short months when he passed away in March 2020. Chyna was predeceased by a brother and has a surviving brother Christopher Smith in Kentucky. Chyna is also survived by her daughters Aimee Howard and Sarah Sharp, both also from Kentucky. Also, Kendall and Reagan Barbella, Oneonta, NY whom she affectionately loved and called her nieces, daughters of her closest friend Danielle and Mike Barbella. Chyna will be cremated and returned to her family in Kentucky and they will have a memorial at a later time. The Barbella Family will also host a celebration of Chyna's life in Oneonta, New York at a later time. All details will be shared with family and friends for both in the near future.
