Nana was the reason I became the best mother I could possibly could be at 17.
She accepted me with open arms.
She envelped me into her family and took me on as her own. She explained that pregnancy is a natural bodily function, as well as breast feeding, (which was not popular in '85).
We lived there for a few months and formed a very loving bond.
Nana taught me how to cook meals (I'm sure my children are still very appreciate of this)!
She showed me how to buy clothes so it would be a "smart" outfit. Turned me onto Macy's and good quality items. Nana entertained me with tons of stories about her home back in Wales. I used her as a template of the kind of mother and wife I wanted to be.
Nana and poppa exposed me to camping!!! Never really camped before that.
Then the boys came. 18 months apart!!! She helped me raise them and guided me through it all!!!
I am a better person for having loved and know her.
My children are lucky to have gotten all these precious gems of knowledge from her as she lived to a formadble age.
I still cant believe nana has passed, but there is not a day in my life since the day I met her, I don't fondly think of her.
God bless nana and her entire family. Family meant EVERYTHING to her.
