Obituary of Karen E. Hosley

Karen E.Hosley, 67, Averill Park went peacefully to heaven with her family by her side on Monday April 8, 2019.  Born in Troy, NY on January 2, 1952, she was raised in Mechanicville and predeceased by her mother & father, Elaine & Frederick Hosley.

Karen graduated from Mechanicville High School class of 1970.  She married Raymond Buchholz April 28, 1979, where they settled roots in Averill Park, NY and were soon blessed with three children, Alesha Erika & Steven. Many years later she was blessed again by many grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Cali, Carson, Mika & Parker, who was the last to come, to make her family complete.

Karen retired from NYS tax & finance. She then went on to running Marilynn’s Park restaurant (Hank’s).

You could find her with a drink in hand and a story to tell, and she always projected light and warmth to everyone she met. Karen loved spending time with family & friends and was known to everyone and she always showed up with a smile on her face.

Her family was her everything, from boating trips with Ray & the kids to watching the grandkids play their sports. She loved baking with her granddaughters and teaching them how to crochet. She found joy sitting by the lake in the early morning and watching her grandkids swim, laughing and providing love & support.  She loved singing “You are my sunshine” with her sunshine boy, Carson. She ended all her visiting time with her family with “I love you Muchie Muchies”.

She has been pushed to the limits in the last few years with how much she has had to endure, through it all she continued to fight with strength and courage and a brave smile and a hug for anyone who needed it.

Karen is survived by her children Erika, Alesha & Steven and her grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Cali, Carson, Mika, Parker, her beloved sister Kathleen (Warren) Fisher , Raymond Buchholz (Bonnie) who has always stayed close to her through thick & thin, her very dear Aunt Jean Benham, The entire Buchholz family and many, many Nieces and Nephews.

Karen’s family is grateful for all of the care she has received by Albany Medical Center Hospital.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday April 13, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm at Riverview Funeral Home 218 2nd Ave.,Troy NY 12180 and a Celebration of life, immediately following at the Troy Motorboat & Canoe club at 763 1st Ave. Troy NY 12182
