Obituary of Terry John Aucompaugh
Terry John Aucompaugh, 70, passed away on November 8th, 2018 following a brief illness. Terry was born on August 10th, 1948 to Franklin and Velna Aucompaugh in Esperance NY, the oldest of seven siblings.
Stargazer, fisherman, Biblical scholar, musician and poet, he will be remembered by those who knew him well as a man driven by these passions.
He is survived by his three daughters, Dawn Aucompaugh (Tom Bittner), Amy Prabhakaran (Satish) and April Mlambi (Sandile), as well as his six grandchildren - Gianna and Thomas Bittner, Zithembe Khuzwayo and Theeran Prabhakaran, and Sibonelo and Thabisile Mlambi who will always remember music-filled visits with Grandpa Terry while he played his guitar and sang Oldies with gusto.
He is also survived by his siblings Leland Aucompaugh (Deborah), Barbara Smith (David), Jeffrey Aucompaugh (Marylou) and Belinda Ryder as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Velna Aucompaugh and his siblings Frank Aucompaugh and Elaine Dott.
A private family memorial will be held in Esperance on his old stompin’ grounds by Schoharie Creek to celebrate his life and legacy.
