Obituary of Linda R. Ottman

East Greenbush - Linda R. Ottman, 73, passed away on February 20, 2016, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side, while she took her flight to heaven. Born on January 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late H. Raymond Ottman and loving daughter of Margaret M. Ottman of Bellingham, Mass. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia A. Ottman-Sweet and son-in-law Joseph E. Sweet. She was “Oma” to Selena L. Sweet and Douglas R. Sweet, and “Great Oma” to Bebhionn Lynn Downer. She was also step-grandma to Joseph C. Sweet, Heather Lane and Jennifer Sweet. She is also survived by one brother, Douglas Ottman of Milford, Mass and one sister, Nancy Phillips and brother-in-law Robert of Woonsocket, R.I. Three nephews and one great niece and three great nephews. Linda was raised in Cobleskill and graduated from Cobleskill High School and also from S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill. From there, she went to work for N.Y.S., where she retired from the Attorney General’s Office in 1998. Linda was an avid bowler, book reader and stock car/NASCAR enthusiast. She also loved spending time on her computer and shopping. She loved to vacation a couple of times a year on Cape Cod with her family. She will be greatly missed and will always be loved in our hearts. In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no viewing, however, a family celebration will take place later in the year in Cape Cod. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the charity of one’s choice in memory of Linda R. Ottman. I would like to thank the Albany Memorial Hospital Staff for their kindness during our difficult time, as well as Simple Choices, Inc. for their guidance and support with Linda’s wishes. ~ Cynthia

Services to be held at a later date:

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no viewing, however, a family celebration will take place later in the year in Cape Cod.
