Obituary of Linda D. Pitkin

Linda Pitkin, 69, of Schenectady, passed peacefully with family by her side on November 17th after a short battle with cancer.
Linda was born on August 17, 1946 in Newburgh, NY to parents Harry and Grace Arrao Pitkin. She graduated from Marlboro High School in Marlboro, NY in 1964. Linda settled in Schenectady and was employed by General Electric for close to 20 years. After retiring from GE, Linda started her own business, which thrived for many years. Her clients were more than just clients; they were like family to her.
Linda touched the lives of so many. She was a free spirit and her zest for life was her trademark. The love for her family was paramount. She was fiercely loyal to those she cared about and could always be counted on for a word of wisdom. Linda was a lover, a fighter, a role model, and a breath of fresh air.
Linda is survived by those who meant the world to her, her son, Kevin DeMassio and daughter-in-law, Rebekah DeMassio; grandchildren, Olivia Grace, and Declan Richard DeMassio; sister, Stephanie Pross, and brother-in-law Ed; nephew, Eric Pross and Andrea Hoffner; niece, Tara Pross and Steve Palmer; nephews, Michael Pitkin and wife Joya; Josh Pitkin and wife Kristin; Jeremiah Pitkin and wife Mary; great-nieces Madison Pitkin; Autumn Pitkin; Isabella Grace Pellegrino, and Gemma Pitkin; great nephew Hunter Pitkin; and many cousins and special friends.
Linda is predeceased by her parents; brother, George Pitkin; and Richard DeMassio.
The family would like to thank her dear friend Paul Lewis for his love and support of Linda and her family.
At Linda’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 28, at 522 Lattintown Road, Marlboro, NY at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome.
