Obituary of James K. Sousek
Schenectady, NY-
James K. “Jimbo” Sousek, 49, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 3rd, with family by his side.
Jim was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin and raised in Francis Creek, Wisconsin, the oldest of three boys and first son of Ronele and James R. Sousek.
Jim came to New York in 2001 and has been a Rotterdam resident since 2012. Prior to that, he traveled and worked throughout the United States where he made several friends. Jim enjoyed Fishing, Nascar, and was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. While in New York, Jim spent his time living and volunteering at the Schenectady Mission.
Jim was the fiancé of Kate Koblenzer, and the stepfather to Kate’s daughters, Krystal Livingston (Adam Faraone) and Kasey Moutray. As well as his beloved canine companion, Roxie aka “Dummy” Jim was survived by his step mom, Jenine Soucoup, his mother, Ronele Sousek, his brothers, Jon (Tara) Sousek, Jeff (Jill) Sousek, his son, Brandon J. Shaw, as well as several family members and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his father James R. Sousek “Swish”.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 8th, at 2pm at Christ Church, 970 State Street Schenectady, NY 12307. Following the memorial service all are welcome to join together to celebrate Jim’s life at the home of Krystal Livingston.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to either the Community Hospice, The City Mission of Schenectady or your local ASPCA.
