Dear Jeanne,Dick Michael,Timothy & Douglas,
I just learned about Josette's passing and missed the tribute by 1 day, for that I'm truly sorry, I would have loved to see you all and pay my respects in person. I have such fond memories of the Melita home and both of your parents & how much everyone was always welcome anytime. You did have the coolest house in G'ville!
Jeanne, if you are still here please contact me I'd love to see you, if only for a few minutes. I live in Davenport, NY (near Oneonta) and can be in Albany in 70 minutes. I remember the the time you & your mom came to my NYC apt. & we went to Lincoln Center to see NYC ballet. Then your car wouldn't start & we had to find the local West 68th street mechanic who got you on your way.
I will always remember Josette fondly & still thank her for my somewhat limited ability to still understand some French, I should have paid more attention!
Please call me anytime 607-278-5885 or cell 607--644-0913. Kindest regards to all. Pam

I am so sorry to hear this news. Josette was a beacon, and I know her light still helps brighten my way -- and always will. But right now, it feels like there's a new and enormous void in the cosmos. My deepest sympathies to her amazing, amazing family. You are all so rich and wonderful, and owe much of that to your two brilliant parents. Thanks for sharing them with me all those years ago.
I do hope things were not too tough at the end. She deserved to go peacefully (in her bathtub if possible!). She was already an angel, so I assume she knows her role from here.

I am sad today to lose my childhood neighbor and friend, Josette, but am so proud of this amazing woman who was ahead of her time. She never wasted a minute of her time and accomplished so much in her lifetime. She was a role model and always encouraged me to Draw and Paint which I am still doing. I loved talking with her and she was genuinely interested in what I was doing and how I was. The Melita Family will be kept in my prayers and in my heart. I feel fortunate to have been a part of Doc and Josette's life and will never forget how much they meant to me. I love you, Josette.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the extended Melita family. One can only wish to lead such a full life as Josette. I had the great pleasure of meeting this special lady and my life was enriched from that introduction. I only wish I knew her better. It is very easy to notice that her spirit lives on in her progeny. The most incredible gift someone can share.
