Obituary of Toni Ann Elizabeth Morris

CASTLETON-ON-HUDSON –

Toni Ann Elizabeth Morris, a beloved mother, cherished life partner, dearest sister, and devoted friend, age 55, of Castleton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away at Albany Medical Center on January 6, 2025 after a sudden, yet aggressive fight she ultimately was unable to beat, leaving a void her family and friends will never fill.

She was born in Bay Shore, NY in on February 22, 1969 to Adele Valenti and the late Raymond LaVere. Toni’s immense love for horses sparked while growing up on her family’s horse farm in Nassau, NY leaving her with so many stories of which she shared with all whom she met. Toni grew to become an avid Jets fan and animal lover with a strong dedication to her family.

Toni was a devoted mother to her daughter, Courtney M. Morris, her pride and joy. Her life’s accomplishments were displayed in the successes of her daughter who she proudly bragged about to anyone she met.

She took special joy in being known as “Mama Toni” to the friends her daughter brought home, and had fond memories of watching scary movies with a living room full of her “adopted children”. To know Toni was to know the love she had for her daughter, son-in-law Jaxon, and beloved four legged grandson Buckley James who quickly became her new pride and joy within seconds of meeting him.

Aside from her daughter, Toni’s heart radiated with love for her life partner, Terence, together living their lives to the fullest every day. Terence is the crazy that kept her belly laughing while shaking her head at his endless creativity and out of this world ideas. They lived their lives on their terms, with an open door policy for any hearts who needed good conversation, good music, and good vibes. The loss of such an amazing, warm hearted woman will forever be felt.

Survivors include her daughter Courtney, son-in-law Jaxon, her “fur-grandson” Buckley James, and life partner Terence Brown, as mentioned above,  as well as her mother Adele Valenti, her brothers Curt (Porzia) LaVere, Steven LaVere, nieces: Lexi and Coley, and nephew Nico, as well as all whom she considered to be an extension of her family outside of blood relation -all of whom will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

In addition to her father Raymond LaVere, Toni was predeceased in death by a step mother, Barbara Fausner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1-4 PM at The American Legion (Melvin Roads Post #1231 in East Greenbush) located at: 200 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144. All are Welcomed.
