Obituary of Robert L. Hogan, Jr.

GREEN ISLAND –
 
Robert Lawrence Hogan, Jr., 60, of Albany Avenue in Green Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
 
A native and lifelong resident of Green Island, he was born on September 6, 1964 to the late Robert Hogan Sr. and Kathryn (Patrick) Hogan of Green Island. 
 
Robert worked in the trucking industry for 25 years and then as a school bus driver. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. Robert will be remembered for instilling many values about love, respect, empathy, hard-work, and perseverance to his daughter, Ashley. 
 
Robert enjoyed vacationing at Cossayuna Lake as a child and young adult. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing horseshoes, listening to tunes and playing card games with his family and friends. 
 
He is survived by his partner, Juanita Ortiz of Green Island; four children Ashley (Matthew) Hoffmann of Wynantskill, Bryan Noble, Angelina (Sean) Noble, Alex Noble of Green Island; his brothers, Thomas and Timothy Hogan;  three grandchildren, Ethan, Jackson, and Elyus. 
 
Friends and family are invited to call from 12PM until 2PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Simple Choices & Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2 o'clock that afternoon with Deacon Bob Sweeney, officiating. All are Welcomed.
 
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Association. 
 
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the exceptional staff and nurses at St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center along with other doctors and support staff at Samaritan Hospital for their kindness and compassion. The family would like to give special thanks to Angie and Bryan for their loving and kind care.
