Don, Jean, I was saddened to read of Robert's passing. Although he and I never worked directly together at MAO, I did have occasion to serve on committees with him and always found him an intelligent, dedicated and refreshingly pleasant work associate. He particularly impressed me with the fact that he always seemed a genuinely happy person. I found that he and I shared an interest in chamber music and there never seemed to be any lack of things to talk about. You should both be pleased with the moving mass tribute to his life. I will miss him as I'm sure you both will. May your sorrow be brief and quickly replaced by many happy memories of a life well lived.

Don & Jean, I just received an email from Art and Fred regarding Robert's passing. I considered my friendship with Robert, Don, and Jean as part of my extended family in New York. After moving back to New Orleans 20 years ago, our contacts have been few and far between, but it never affected my love for my extended family in New York. I was always sharing the fact the Robert and Don had their summer home in Maine and their winter home in Albany, New York. We had great times together and many mutual friends who will miss who Robert as I will. My love and condolences go out to Don and Jean. Stay strong my dear friends. Jim

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing; he was dearly loved by those who knew him. I worked with Bob at MAO where he was known as a dedicated passionate, reliable worker; always good to have on your project and always a source of sound advice. Since his retirement I have seen Bob at church and social events and we always end up in long conversations about our travels, history or books we have read. It was inspirational to read in Bob's obituary about how much he truly experienced life and sought to pursue his interests. That should be a model for any of us who have gotten complacent. Bob will be missed.
