Ellen M. Asprion, 83, of Ballston Spa, formerly of Delmar and Roscoe, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
 
Born on October 22, 1941 in Roscoe, NY, she was the daughter of the late John G. Merrill and Vivian (Bowers) Merrill. Ellen was raised in Roscoe, NY and received her education from Roscoe Central School District (Class of 1959).  She moved to Albany to further her education at Albany Business School, and raised children in Delmar.
 
Ellen worked for the State of New York as an administrative secretary in her early career. She later worked at Toole's Restaurant in Delmar for many years and then Irwin Elevator before returning to Roscoe where she worked different jobs before retiring. Ellen worked hard her entire life. She was strong and caring and always helping others. Ellen raised four daughters who love her dearly and will miss her.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters and their spouses: Kimberly Kipp (Kenny); Amy Carlin (Jonathan); Brenda Jensen (Jeffrey) and Kate Tietenberg (Eric).
 
She cherished her grandchildren: Joseph Popson, Jr ; Mikayla Kipp; Brandon Kipp; Nathaniel Schin; Breanna Kipp; Tyler Schin; Brodie Kipp; Alexa Tietenberg; Emma Nobes; and great grandchildren: Joey Popson and Freddy Kipp.
 
Surviving siblings are Arthur Merrill and Elizabeth Hutchinson.
 
In addition to her parents, Ellen was predeceased by siblings: John Peter Merrill, Muriel Gilbert, Bernita Bussfeld and Malcolm Merrill.
 
Ellen’s daughters wish to thank the Community Hospice of Saratoga County for their exceptional compassion and care.
 
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. A memorial service for the family will be held at a future date.
