Tim was our chimney guy for many years but he was so much more than that. He genuinely cared about every single person and their families. He was honest, professional, and truly one of a kind. He talked about his wife and kids and that smile lit up the room when he spoke about them. My heart goes out to his wife and children. This was a HUGE loss for countless people! Our lives are better because we had the pleasure of getting to know such a remarkable man!! Rest in Peace, my friend!

The news of Tim's passing is crushing. I am so deeply saddened by the loss of such an incredible person. We met Tim many years ago when he accepted an urgent job of rebuilding a 2 story chimney in the dead of winter in an historical house in Saratoga. He was incredible....his skills of course, but his whole demeanor and attitude. He not only filled the room with great positivity, but would change the whole ambiance of the work site! He was a burst of sunshine (not sure he would like that description). You couldn't help but put a smile on your face and feel a little lighter around Tim. We felt we had found a forever friend with him. We talked quite a bit back then. He gave all the credit for his incredible life to his incredible wife. He, perhaps, had been a little lost (my words) and all changed after being with her. Together, with her help, they created a wonderful life. We are so grateful that we met and worked with Tim. I hope, in honor of Tim, that I can be a little sunshine in someone's life, like Tim was to ours and so many others'. I'll post a few pics of the job he did for us. He was tough! No heat in the house ,but he kept going. Incredible.

Tim and the family have been our next door neighbors for years. And every time we went over we always saw Tims happy smile, and he gave us the worlds best high fives. Every time we walked through the front door he would ask how our day went, or how we were, and would always say, “Its gonna be awesome.” And he truly did make everything and everyone feel awesome. We miss you so much. Thank you for being the best neighbors we could ever ask for. ❤️

I burst into tears as soon as I heard about Tim's passing. His light shined brighter than mine and I am pretty hard to top... and he did it effortlessly. Tim is one of a kind. I met him initially when he serviced my home's chimney's close to 8 years ago. He consistently had a sunny disposition on every visit!!! Not only was he awesome in his trade...he had the nerve to give me sound advice on many visits also! What a guy! Tim is one of role models. He left too soon. Hugs and strength to his lovely wife and children.
Rest in power King

I first met Tim at The Defreestville Fire Station during a firefighter training class. He was new to the Fire service and was excited to be involved in the Volunteer service. He was a very Happy go Lucky individual. When I saw him pull in with his actual chimney van i figured I'd give some work to a fellow volunteer as my chimney had been damaged by a neighbors tree. He accepted the job without even looking. He came to evaluate the situation and said " It will look awesome, when I'm done " Actually it looked better when he was done. He has spoken to me a few times since. Such an amazing young man and Business owner. He will be missed by all who knew him. My heart goes out to Holly and the rest of his friends and family R.I.P. My friend. Sorry this was a long comment, but I just want everyone to know what a great man he was to all.

Dear dear Tim - when I saw this my heart sank. I knew Tim for years, he always was so fair and caring for my old house. I trusted him and listened to his suggestions. Tim was so fair to the men he hired and enjoyed teaching them the trade. I would always marvel at his pearly white teeth, oh that smile I will never forget. I saw Tim recently when he cleaned my stove for the new owners, he gave me a big hug...wherever you are Tim remember you are "awesome" and your spirit is around Holly and the his beautiful children.

Tim cleaned our chimney several times. I knew him also from providing a replacement wood stove for an elderly neighbor. Tim went several steps past 'contractor' to cherished friend for that neighbor. He proposed 'fixes' that saved money for those that didn't have much. He helped the ill, with us knowing Tim's health wasn't the best. He always seemed in better spirits than he probably felt himself. He was much more than a chimney sweep / mason. He took care of us. And we loved and respected him for it. Thanks, God, for sending Tim to us. I pray for peace and strength and prosperity for his family in his absence. But then, his presence will be with them. God bless us with other friends as wonderful as Tim Smith. I can find another chimney sweep. I will be hard-pressed to find anyone as honest, kind and joyous as Tim Smith. Rest in peace, Tim.

I moved to the area ten years ago and bought a house. The chimney was shot so hired Tim replaced it. I work in the trades and have met every personality possible - Tim was truly unique. Just a wonderful man, so very kind and friendly, would always go above and beyond, and his craftsmanship was impeccable. They don't make men like this very often and my heart goes out to his wife and those wonderful kids. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
I didn't know Tim very deeply, but I have looked forward to him coming to clean my chimneys every year and I always made sure I was around just so I got a chance to chat with him.

Dear Smith family and friends, our heartfelt prayers are with you as we remember what an honest and caring professional Tim was. Over the last few years Tim and his company took care of our chimney and flues, installing a handsome cap and a lovely copper flashing. We will remember Tim's kindness and smile whenever we make a fire now.

I got to know Tim a few years ago when I coached his wonderful daughter's softball team. Always a huge smile on his face, always ready to lend a hand. Ran into him randomly a few times after, & every time it was like seeing an old, long time friend. I am so sorry for everyone's loss, as he was a highlight for all who knew him.

We met Tim when we moved to NYS two years ago, and after a simple sweep, we hired him for a complex project, which he and his team realized wonderfully. I have rarely met a craftsman with such a high work ethic. I hope his children will inherit this quality of his. I am not a religious person, so I do not pray, but I will keep Mr. "it will be awesome" in my memories and thoughts.

His quality workmanship, honest & professional business manners will remain his true legacy. We will miss his smile.
