Obituary of Melody Teasley
ALBANY –
Melody Teasley, 64, of Albany, NY and formerly of Bennington, VT, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024.
The daughter of the late Rosemary Teasley Lamarche, Melody was born on December 23, 1959 in Albany.
She was raised and resided in Florida, graduating from Crystal River High School. She returned to Albany and was employed with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Melody leaves to cherish her memory her children: Marcus King, Jon King and Tayler “Glorious “ Blair, her special granddaughters: Ajiana Johnson and Eniyah Mathew ( ging ging). Her siblings: Anthony Smith, Beatrice Jackson, Geneva Austin of Crystal River, FL, Bobby Austin of Bennington, VT, Willie Jean Austin and Adrian Lamarche of Albany.
Melody was the dear aunt of: Erica Cancer, Mydori Teasley, El Ja-Quanna, Melundae Teasley and Kyle Harris and great aunt of: Qua-Var (rah rah ), Saladyn Browne, A’sereh Young, I’cCyss Fenner and Ashari King. She is also survived by her best friends: Earthene Tolliver-Howard, Davy King and Betsy Weaver.
In addition to her mother, Rosemary Teasley Lamarche, Melody was predeceased by her godmother Johnnie Mae Gainey, Laura Ryals (her favorite aunt) Theresa Debra Teasley (her sister) and Adrien Teasley (her son).
Special Thanks to the caring staff at both Albany Medical Center and St Peter’s Hospice Inn for their compassion and care.
Cremation has taken place though the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Melody’s Celebration of Life, to be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 3-8PM at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, located at 74 State Street, Albany NY 12207.
