Obituary of Marshall Lee Brainard, Jr.
VALATIE –
Marshall Lee “Butchie” Brainard, Jr., 63, of Ghent, NY formerly of Valatie, NY passed away on June 23, 2024 in Albany, NY.
Born January 2, 1961 in White Plains, NY to Joann Torres-Post he was a fierce big brother to his two younger sisters. Marshall proudly served in the U.S. Army in his youth and has since continuously showed his pride in being a Veteran. It was in his deployment that he learned he had a fascination with Germany.
Marshall was an avid camper and made sure to share this love with his two boys. He also had a great love of Cape Cod and would travel there as often as possible- it truly was his happy place on Earth.
Survived by his children Jonathan (Ashley) Brainard and Brendan (Nicole) Brainard, his grandchildren: Caleb, Elliot, and Emma. His siblings: Debra Fortuna and Robin Flemming, his nephews and niece, his girlfriend Kim Collins, and his faithful companions, Tank and Lefty.
In addition to his mother, Marshall was also predeceased by his wife, Pamela Brainard.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The family has chosen to mourn their loss in private.
