Obituary of Ellsworth R. Stewart, Jr.

MISSON, TEXAS –
Ellsworth R. Stewart Jr., 82, of Mission, TX, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024 after a long struggle with dementia surrounded by family in Albany, NY.
Born in Austin, TX, he graduated from LaGrange High School, and earned a BS in Biology and a MS in Molecular Biology both from the University of Houston.  He worked in agricultural research for Monsanto and then established Stewart Agricultural Research Services in 1975 in Clarence, MO.  His work on behalf of the National Soybean Association gave him the opportunity to lobby Congress, Governors, and Presidents.
His business took him around the world, and often to Japan. He shared many adventures with Pat, his wife and business partner of 42 years.  He loved cooking dishes he picked up around the world, traveling, exploring new places, and entertaining friends and family. He was a loving parent and Granddad who made a point to travel and adventure with his children and grandchildren, a passion they carry on.
He is survived by his wife Pat Stewart; daughters Courtney (Robert) and Christina (Don) by his ex-wife Georgia, stepson Cal (Stacy); grandchildren Orianna (Thibault), Moshe (Alix), Bahiyyih, Shenandoah, Bailee, Caleb, and Katie; great-grandchild Aodren; sister Joyce; and several nieces, nephews, uncle, and cousins.  He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ellsworth and Marie, and sister Virginia.
He was not a fan of ceremony so in lieu of a formal funeral, his family gathered round him in his last days to share their love with him.
Anyone wishing to make a tribute in his name may do so to the Lewy Body Dementia Association https://www.lbda.org/, The McDonald Observatory at the University of Austin, or any of the National Parks he was fond of visiting.
