Obituary of Emily Veronica Everett-Franco
ALBANY –
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Veronica Everett-Franco on December 22, 2023, who left this world too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
She was born December 21, 1955, and grew up in Brooklyn, but spent her early childhood years in Carriacou, West Indies. While living in NYC, she earned a BA from Baruch College, met and married the father of her two beloved children, Everett and Haley. In 1997, she moved to Saratoga Springs to raise her family. Her final years were spent in Albany, where she continued to be a source of support and love for all those around her.
Emily was a woman of incredible strength and resilience. Known for her skillful hands, she found joy in repairing upholstery, bringing new life to forgotten pieces. This talent was a reflection of her creative spirit and her belief in the possibility of renewal and restoration.
Her family was the center of her world. As a loving mother, she provided her children with a nurturing and loving home. Her relationship with her nieces was particularly special, as she was not only an aunt but also a mentor and a friend.
Her love for music was eclectic, ranging from the soulful tunes of Aretha Franklin to the jazz melodies of Miles Davis, and the vibrant guitar of Gary Clark Jr. She also had a passion for puzzles and word games, which kept her mind sharp and her spirit lively.

Professionally, she was dedicated to helping people with disabilities find meaningful employment, and as a home health aide, she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, especially her children, Everett and Haley, her former husband Jim, her brother Emil, her sister Elise; as well as nieces, extended family, friends, and the many lives she affected. She was preceded in death by her beloved partner, Jack.
As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and her commitment to her family and community.
