My heart is so heavy... I remember the day your oma and opa brought you to my parents house for the first time. Such a handsome shy little boy dressed in his sailor outfit. You quickly became part of our family, like a little brother. When your grandparents moved back to NY I remember being so sad that I wouldn't see you again. To much of my surprise our paths crossed again.I enjoyed catching up with you on FB and chatting like the years had never passed. I was so proud to see what a smart well accomplished man you had become.
Reading all the loving memories people have for you Stephen is so awesome. You touched so many lives in such a positive way. I hope your looking down and hearing all these heart felt messages that people have left for you, and know how truly loved you are. May you settle in and rest at peace with your mom, oma and opa, but never forget us.Until I see you again Stephen, keep a light on and a open spot for me. Love you always and forever!

Steve, I will miss our late night talks, your witty but always good advice. You touched my life more than you could ever know. You were always willing to listen, advise and sometimes say nothing just listen. You gave yourself selflessly and unconditionally to everyone around you never wanting anything in return.Your memory will live on in our hearts. God speed my friend.

Although I too am but an online friend, I had several interesting and edifying chats with Steve. We seemed to often be battling the same demons at the same time, and as often celebrating life's greatest pleasures simultaneously.
He was never afraid to open his heart and his mind to my troubles and joys, and I can only hope that in some small way I was able to do the same for him, when called upon.
I believe that, if we must measure a man's worth, one infallible yardstick is the hole that is left when he is gone....and the view from here, when I contemplate this loss, is one of an endless abyss.
And so, knowing how much greater the spiritual yearning must be for his family and real-life friends, I offer my most sincere condolences and prayers for comfort to all.

Only having chatted with Steve on a few occasions, I can only say he came across as a real nice guy.
He touched the hearts and minds of people around the world and had a lasting impact on their lives.
That I can say for sure as I sit here thousands of miles away, with tears in my eyes for the loss of a young man, that I never had the pleasure to meet in real life.
My heart feels for his family and friends that had the pleasure to know him a lot longer than me.
I hope the little quote below from one of Steve’s favourite authors will give him a chuckle.
"So it goes."

I am one of Steve's mob wars friends. I didn't know him personally but I spoke with him via the computer many times. What struck me was first, how incredibly intelligent he was and second, how incredibly giving and kind he was. I am not a computer genius, not even close, and he would help me out with questions that I had and never act like I am an idiot. I live in Utah, and he told me that he had lived here for a time so we would talk about cool places in Utah. It is so ironic to me that the day before I found out he had died, I was in some mountains, in the back country. I saw some incredibly beautiful places and a baby moose. I took a bunch of pictures and was thinking to myself that Steve would love to see them. I wish he had, but perhaps he was there with me for a time.
Our mob wars family is so close, and this has hit us all so very hard. Several players who knew Steve but weren't family members have now joined. I guess this was a wish of Steve's. God Bless you all!

Steve touched countless people through his social interactions and personal relationships. I was privileged to know him in a virtual manner. He had a heart that most should covet and inspire to mimic. He helped others with no expectation of a 'return'. He didn't judge, he befriended. He had a gift for sharing his IT abilities, but that was over shadowed by his concern for the individual. He will live on in each of us that he touched, because we carry that part of him with us now. His candle burned out prematurely, but burned brighter than others while lit.........peace be with you, brother.

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi...
Some people pass through life like meteors, flashing brightly yet leaving nothing in their wake...
Some linger like the rising sun, slowly suffusing the skies with warmth, then gently giving up to night...
Others twinkle, glistening for brief moments, flashing on and off, and easily missed in the turmoil around them...
And some, like Friend Steve Kro, approach like fiery comets, cosmic companions ceaselessly soaring through the firmament, full of flash and fury and leaving behind indelible tails, incredible tales and mournful wails...
But these woes are misplaced, for though he may have passed from our sight, the comet continues it's flight, forging fearlessly forward, perhaps one day to return, to revisit and review the world so recently vacated.
Safe travels, my Friend
Until we meet again
you are all in my thoughts and prayers
god bless
miguel

Steve had a heart bigger than the big man he was. He helped me many times in so many ways, always gentle, always with a smile. He and my husband shared a love of everything "technology", often leaving mW scratching my head trying to understand. He was a good friend to my boys, Zach and Evan, and a good friend to me. I miss him. I am holding his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
