Obituary of Cheryl Lynne Hamano
WYNANTSKILL –
Cheryl Lynne (Stewart) Hamano, 53, of Wynantskill, NY formerly of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on September 2, 2023 with her loving parents by her side.
The daughter of Dane N. and Rollene E. (Howard) Stewart, of Wynantskill, Cheryl was born on November 28, 1969 in Troy, NY.
She was raised in LaPorte, Indiana until 1980 and has also resided in Vail, Colorado. Cheryl received her high school education and was formerly employed in sales and as a waitress.
Cheryl will be warmly remembered by her family as a loving mother, beloved daughter, caring sister and cherished aunt. Cheryl was supportive and caring and never passed judgement on others. She possessed a great love for animals and for those less fortunate. Above all, she loved her family and friends and will be remembered as creative and caring.
In addition to her loving parents, Cheryl is survived by her only daughter, McKenna Elise Legg (19) and two siblings: John Dane Stewart and Amy Jean (Stewart) Brown.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Shirley R. and Donald P. Smith of West Sand Lake, NY and Delores J. Stewart of LaPorte, IN.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
The Stewart Family wishes to acknowledge, with heartfelt gratitude, Dr. Phelan and Staff at NYOH Troy Cancer Center, Samaritan Hospital, ED, 3rd and 4th Floor Staff, and The Community Hospice for their care and compassion.
It is the wish of Cheryl’s Family that donations be made in her memory to The Community Hospice Foundation.
