WILTON – David L. Cipkowski, 76, of Wilton, formerly of Waterford, entered into rest on April 6, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. The son of the late Victor and Evelyn (Sanders) Cipkowski, David was born on November 24, 1946, in Troy, NY. David was raised in Waterford, where he graduated from Waterford High School. David met his wife while they were both working for Montgomery Wards. Later in his life, David became a walking postal carrier with USPS. It was a job he loved, and he had one of the longest routes in Saratoga Springs, NY. As a teenager he worked in a Lake George restaurant as a short order cook. David was in the US Air Force, stationed in Tennessee from 1966-1970. He was a supply clerk, ordering supplies and survival training camps for the soldiers. He was proficient in typing so he was kept stateside during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge for his service. At one time David supervised a skateboarding park in Saratoga Springs, NY. David was interested in nature, wild animals, sitting in the sun, feeding the wildlife in the backyard, reading, gardening, old black and white movies, and creepy crawly movies. He also loved to cook and take over the kitchen! He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sharon (Daltilio) Cipkowski, whom he married on March 18, 1994, in Schenectady.
