Obituary of Roxy Marie Smith

ALBANY – Roxy Marie Smith, 72, of Albany, passed suddenly at home surrounded by her children on Saturday, March 4, 2023 Born January 26, 1951, in Spokane, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Wynetta Tinsley. Roxy later moved to California where she met her soon to be husband Ernest W. Smith, Jr. They enjoyed life in California until Ernest finished his time in the Marines. Together they moved to Albany, NY where they married, bought a home, and started a family. Roxy retired at age 62. In retirement she enjoyed traveling, relaxing at home with her dogs and spending time with her children. One of Roxy’s greatest passions in life was her love for animals, particularly dogs. She had many, but 5 of them had a special place in her heart: Sheba, Sasha, Budda, Molly and Rocky. Roxy was a beloved Wife, Cherished Mother and Devoted Friend. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. If you knew her, you loved her. Roxy will be missed and remembered for her generous heart and kind soul. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ernest W. Smith, Jr., her children: Crystal Smith, Ernest W. Smith III, Joseph Smith, “bonus son” Joshua Baggett, and Tammy. Her brothers-in-law: Dave (Mary), Donald (Debra), Allen (Robin), sister-in-law Linda (Kevin) Zink, brother-in-law Richard (Shannon), sister-in-law Holly Smith, and many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Roxy was predeceased by her mother-in-law Shirley Smith, father-in-law Ernest W. Smith, Sr. and one brother-in-law William Smith.
