Obituary of Frank E. Mauzon
TROY –
On the morning of January 21, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York, the Lord saw fit to call Frank E. Mauzon home.
The son of the late Edward “Eddie” Mauzon, Sr. and Janie (Felix) Mauzon, Frank was born on August 9, 1937, in Greeleyville, South Carolina, the youngest of 8 children.
Frank was educated in the Williamsburg County School District where he graduated from Williamsburg Technical High School. He left Greeleyville SC shortly after graduating. He was very close to his family, so in his early twenties it was no surprise when he decided to move to Philadelphia to be with his brother Ezekiel, sister-in-law Maebell and Family.
In 1963, Frank met Mary Porter. Frank and Mary later welcomed the birth of their daughter Theresa Lee Mauzon. A few years later Frank moved to Troy, New York, once again to be closer to his siblings who had relocated to Troy.
A few years later Frank entered a union with Dorothy Chestnut, later they welcomed a baby boy, Kemonte “Mar” Mauzon.
Frank's chosen profession was Auto Detailer where he worked for several auto body shops. He took great pride in his detailing work as everyone knew just by the way he kept his cars spit shine clean.
Family and friends who knew Frank best, described what we know as a “love-hate relationship” (but mostly filled with love.) Frank can be described as “sweet as pie” or “sour as lemons”. To his family he was Dad, Unc, Uncle Buzz
He would sometimes use some “very colorful” choice words. In the next moment he would want to cook for you. His words could make you shiver in your shoes or make you laugh until your sides hurt (but that's just who our dad was.) Frank's colorful personality will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, his brothers: Ezekiel and Sam, and his sisters: Bertha, Janie, Rena, Pansy, Virginia, and Queen Esther. Also preceded by his “special sister” Maebell Mauzon, his beloved Dorothy Chestnut and son Alvin Porter.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory, his children and their spouses: daughter Theresa Mauzon, son Vaughn Chestnut (and his wife Theresa), son Kemonte (and his wife Keisa) and daughter Theresa Stephens “Little Theresa” (and her husband Ayodele).
He was the grandfather of six grandsons: Malik, Vaughn, Kemonte, Juluis, Tumani, and Kamari, and five granddaughters: Surayyah, Justina, Kayla, Emily and Maeleni. He was also blessed with great grandchildren: Amalia, Briella, Coninna, Delilah, Kyle, Kinsly, Ja'cion and Jah'von. Frank also leaves behind his “bonus brother” (nephew) Robbie Mauzon, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
The Mauzon Family will receive relatives and friends from 12-2PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023, in the Chapel of Simple Choices, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180, where a memorial service will commence at 2PM in the funeral home.
