Obituary of Thomas H. Cameron III

Thomas H. Cameron III, 85, of Nassau, passed away on January 18, 2024 in the comfort of his own home under hospice care.
 
The son of the late Thomas H. Cameron II and Mary (Mahan) Cameron, Thomas was born on November 18, 1938 in Albany, NY. A native of the Capital Region and Rensselaer County, Thomas has been a resident of Albany, Rensselaer, Nassau and Stephentown. He received his education from Albany High School (grades 9-11) and graduated his senior year at Van Rensselaer High School.
 
His employment history encompassed time as a technician for General Electric, an Operating Engineer, a Taxi driver and a self-employed gunsmith. Tom was a true outdoorsman, an avid hunter, animal lover and in his spare time also enjoyed a round of golf.
 
Survivors include his wife of nearly 42 years, Bonnie (Donato) Cameron, whom he married in Stephentown, NY on March 19, 1982.
 
He was the devoted father of: Thomas Cameron IV, Heather Gorton, Rebecca Teal (Jack Teal IV) David Cameron, Justin Cameron (Robin) Adam Cameron (Jayme) Ashley Cameron (Darrin) and also adopted and raised his granddaughter Katie Cameron. Additionally, Tom is survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 3 siblings: Caroline Love, Barbara Conklin and James Cameron.
 
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by three sisters: Ilene Cameron, Joyce Westerfelt and Janet Tomasone.
 
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The Family will hold a private memorial service to honor Thomas’ memory.
