Obituary of Hugh Joseph Terenzini, Jr.

COHOES –

Hugh Joseph Terenzini, Jr., 67, of Cohoes, formerly of Watervliet, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on March 17, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

The son of the late Hugh Joseph Terenzini, Sr. and Patricia Eleanor (Foice) Terenzini. Hugh, Jr. was born on August 29, 1956 in Albany. He was raised in Watervliet and attended local schools.

Mr. Terenzini recently retired from UCI Warehouses in Albany. His hobbies and interests included horse racing and researching and studying the unknown (supernatural). He enjoyed listening to talk shows and was a huge animal lover. But most of all, the qualities that best describe Hugh, was that he was a man with a “big heart” who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a devoted father and he cherished his children and grandchildren.

Survivors cherishing his memory include Tina Smith, his life partner for 37 years. His children: Nicole Lynn Smith and Hugh Joseph Terenzini, III (Amanda Decker). His grandchildren: Hugh Joseph Terenzini, IV and Cameron Terenzini. His sisters: Patricia A. Gulli, Linda Y. Terenzini, Barbara J. Terenzini-Gulli (James J. Gulli) and Mary M. Plourde (Wayne). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Hugh was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Marie Terenzini (1993), his granddaughter Mia Terenzini (2015) and his brother-in-law Nicholas Gulli (2013).

The Terenzini Family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the following: Lansingburgh Fire Department, Mohawk Ambulance Service and the Medical Staff at Samaritan Hospital in the Emergency Room, as well as the Doctor and Nurses in the ICU for their expert care of not only Hugh, but for the family. We are very appreciative.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
