Obituary of James John Guilbault

EARLTON – James John Guilbault, 70 of Earlton, formerly of Massena, entered into rest on October 27, 2022, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. The son of the late Frederick and Irene Mary (Cummings) Guilbault, James was born on October 4, 1952, in Potsdam, New York. He was raised in Louisville, New York and was a graduate of Massena High School. Mr. Guilbault has since resided in Latham and Athens, New York. James was a Lifetime Master Carpenter. His memberships and affiliations included the U.S. Marine Corps., the NRA, Disabled Veterans, and the VFW. James will be warmly remembered as a loving grandfather, father, dog lover, and a loyal friend, who selflessly enjoyed helping people. James would go on bike rides with his grandchildren, he loved wood working, hiking the Catskill mountains, he possessed a joy and great touch for gardening, he also enjoyed running known by many as “Jogging Jim”, as he loved being outdoors, and relaxing with music next to a fire. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Christine LaDuke, whom he married on April 19, 1975, at St. Mary’s Church in Canton, NY. He was the loving father of Kimberly J. Guilbault (Matthew Andrewaratha) Jaime L. Tangert, Michael J. Guilbault (Amanda Guilbault). Cherished grandfather of Mykalyn LaDuke Alexis Guilbault, Julia Guilbault, Michael Tangert, Jr., Chloe Guilbault and Honor Guilbault. Dearest brother of Frederick Guilbault, Jr., Barbara Guilbault, Kenny Guilbault and Helen Guilbault. The Guilbault Family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitiude to James’ close friend, Nigel, the Athens Rescue Squad, the Albany Medical Center B2 Nursing Staff (they were a blessing) as well as the Doctors and staff. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The family is planning a memorial service a day, time, and place to be announced.
