Obituary of Roslyn D. Tullis
ALBANY-
Roslyn D. Tullis (Dee) 59 of Albany, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 8, 2022, after a long, courageous fight. Her loving daughter and fiancé were by her side during her last moments.
Born in Albany on July 13, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe J. and Hermine E. Richardson.
Dee spent her childhood and early adult years residing in Albany, NY. She graduated from Columbia high school. Following high school, Dee went into the workforce as a healthcare professional. Helping others came to her effortlessly because it came from the heart. During her employment at Albany County Nursing Home, she met Kevin P. Tullis. They soon married, moved to Schenectady, NY and were blessed with a daughter, Tiffany C. Tullis.
Following the birth of her child, Dee decided to stay home and focus on her family. She took pride in raising her child and supporting her spouse’s law enforcement career. Kevin and Dee shared 15 years of marriage together. Kevin unexpectedly passed away in January 1996. Distraught from passing of her spouse, Dee knew she needed to keep going for the sake of her eight-year-old daughter, Tiffany. At the time, Dee wasn’t working and had to develop a plan to raise her child as a single mother. Dee continued to reside in Schenectady, NY until 2001 when she moved to Ballston Spa, NY to give her child more opportunities for a successful life.
Tiffany graduated from high school, continued her education, and received a college degree. Tiffany expanded her family and had a beautiful daughter, Sanaiya N. Noisette. Dee took pride in the family she built! She would tell anyone who would listen how much she loved her family and how proud she was of her daughter. Sanaiya called Dee “mom” because of how close they were.
Later in life, she met a wonderful man and spent the last 11 years of her life loving Robert Jeffers. They completed each other! She was there for Robert in his times of need and vice versa. Dee became ill and dealt with chronic pain daily; that never keep her down! Robert cared for Dee for the last five years of her life and fought the good fight with her. Even in her last days, Dee never gave up! We are forever grateful for Robert’s love and support.
Dee is survived by her loving daughter Tiffany Tullis; granddaughter, Sanaiya Noisette; fiancé, Robert Jeffers; and puppy, CoCo; sister, Paula Cousin & husband, Dennis Cousin; brothers, Eric Richardson, Roscoe Richardson III & wife, Karen Richardson; in-laws, Stephanie Tullis-Washington, Virginia Moody & husband, Edward Moody; Dwight Tullis; Jolean Koonce; Isaiah Tullis Jr.
Dee truly loved the lord and never questioned her eternal resting place. She was known for showing love and giving hugs! Dee, you are an amazing woman! Your strength and courage never went unnoticed by any! Until the day we meet again, we love you now and forever!
Please join us for a memorial service to celebrate Dee’s life! We will gather at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at 441 Washington Ave, Albany NY on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1pm. To honor Dee, please wear blue to her celebration of life service!
