Obituary of Lori Patricia Sim
SCHENECTADY-
Lori Patricia Sim (Walker) passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2021.
She is survived by her loving husband Frank T. Sim whom she happily spent the last 23 years within Schenectady, NY. She leaves behind her children Kim Drozdzal-Taylor (David), Amanda Hempstead (John), Butchie Manchester, Bernadette Manchester, her stepson Glen Sim (Brandie) and her bonus daughter Jolene Russ. She was such a loving Grammy to Brianna, Shawne Jr., Jasmyn, Emilee, Michael, Coty, Angeliese and Great Grammie to many. She is also survived by her fur babies Junior Sim, Callie Sim, & Precious Sim.
Lori was born on October 25, 1959, in Albany, NY to the late Evelyn Dorothy Walker (Shadick) and Frederick Robert Walker Sr. Lori is also survived by her siblings Thomas P. Walker Sr. and Anne Marie Walker and several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-Laws and friends who were family such as Joanie Holt, Tina Soucia, and Kathy Miranda... too many to list! Her friendly smile will be greatly missed by so many of us including past and present neighbors from Selkirk to Schenectady. Lori was predeceased by her daughter Ashley L. Manchester and her siblings Frederick R. Walker Jr. and Eileen Walker.
Lori graduated from RCS Senior High school in 1979 and after working as a cashier and deli clerk, she became a Certified Nurse’s Aide in 1986. She went on to become a Security Officer for the first time in 1995. Throughout her time, she also enjoyed several different works from home sales programs from Tupperware to Avon to The Body Shop.
She spent the last few years of her life retired at home with her husband and pets doing things she loved such as watching the NY Giants games. She liked playing games on her computer or cell phone. She even went on a weight loss journey and lost almost 100 lbs and was the most confident and proud she'd ever been.
We all will miss that text she sent to each and every one of us to say good morning and tell us how much she loved us! Words cannot express how grief stricken we are at this unexpected loss of such a strong loving person, so at the request of the family the Celebration of Life service will be semiprivate and by invitation, please respect that.
