Memories of John, he would allow my kids to fish in his pond and always spoke with them about nature , history, and dogs. We lived by John for many years and he enjoyed stopping by as he drove up the driveway and visited with my dogs and kids. He would always invite the kids to come and socialize with his new litter of puppies. Kids loved it!

I just learned of John’s passing today as I am not involved with much social media these days. My sincere condolences to Jolanta and family. Thank you John and Jolanta for all your knowledge and support with my teckels and your help getting tracking legalized in Iowa. I was honored to have met John at a couple of Trackfests and visited with him. John’s vast experience and lessons will live on and be passed to many future trackers.

I learned so much about Dachshunds from Johns writings. I never had the pleasure of meeting or speaking with John. I met Jolanta online when I learned about Joeri ( John's Therapy and Heart Dog ) and his Back Surgery and spoke with Jolanta a few times about the surgeries my Dachshunds went through and their recovery . Through these calls and emails I learned how Special a Person John was. Sorry for your loss Jolanta and thanks for sharing Johns life with me .
RIP JOHN with your Buddy your Pal your Friend Joeri by your side now.

I met John through dachshund field trials and through AWTA den trials in the late 1970's.. He came woodchuck digging with me and my miniature dachshunds a number of times, appreciating the physical capabilities of these little hounds for underground hunting. He also saw these dog find and run rabbits for my Harris's Hawks. John always wanted to learn more about hunting with dachshunds. He was a good friend and was willing to share blood tracking knowledge. My sons have good memories of hunting with John too. He will be missed. The blood tracking community has much to thank him for. Rest in peace, old friend, and thank you Jolanta for supporting John all these years.
