Obituary of Nicholas Golowaty
PETERSBURG-
Nicholas Golowaty, 61, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021. Nicholas was born in Troy, NY on April 25, 1960, and was the son of the late, George Golowaty and Beatrice Golowaty-Hubbard.
Nicholas was a resident of Petersburg for 61 years. He was a graduate of Berlin High School and the Center for Natural Wellness School of Message Therapy in 1994. Nicholas was employed for 31 years with the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance, retiring in 2019. In his leisure time he enjoyed family holidays and friends at the MOK and backyard barbecues. He was also fond of Kayaking and hiking with his friend Terri.
Besides his parents, Nicholas was predeceased by his stepfather, Alfonso Hubbard and his sisters, Joyce Golowaty and Lynn Simon.
Nicholas leaves behind to mourn his loss, his two brothers: Walter Golowaty (Donna) of Toms River, NJ and Michael Golowaty of the Philippines; nephew, Nigel Noble of Redway, CA and niece, Jessica Simon of NYC, as well as many cousins and his canine companion, Lilly.
Many thanks are gratefully extended to: Brian, Tian, Walt, Donna and Terri and to his neighbor’s of over 40 years, Ray and Tracie as well as Community Care Hospice, for everyone’s loving care and support.
A Memorial Service for Nicholas will be observed on Saturday, July 24th at 12 Noon from the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, (corner of 104th St) Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home from 10 am until 12 Noon, prior to the service. Inurnment will immediately follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Petersburg, NY.
