Obituary of Joan D. Purdy

Saratoga Springs – Joan D. Purdy, 92, formerly of Cobleskill, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020, at the Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs. She was born on May 22, 1928, in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late James A. Davidson and Elizabeth Hall Woolsey. Joan worked for many years at Cobleskill Regional Hospital in the payroll department and had been a parishioner at Saint Vincent De Paul’s Catholic Church, singing in the choir. She moved to Saratoga Springs in 2017. She was the wife of the late L. Joseph Purdy. Joan is survived by her daughters, Susan (George) deGaspard and Melinda (Brian) Van Schaick and her son, Stephen (Mona) Purdy. She was predeceased by her brother, Allison Woolsey and her sister, Beverly Russ. Joan’s family would like to thank the staff of the Home of the Good Shepherd for the care and comfort they provided. Services will be private. Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
